Start Here: Set Up Scope Wiser in 7 Steps

The order to do things in. Seven steps from an empty account to a working WhatsApp bot, a shared inbox your team answers from, and your first broadcast — plus what to leave until later.

There is a lot in Scope Wiser, and almost none of it matters at the start. This page is the order to do things in.

About an hour of actual work. The only thing you wait on is Meta's business verification, and you can keep working while that is reviewed. Each step links to the full guide.

Get connected

1. Check what Meta requires. A Facebook login, a business portfolio, an admin role on it, a phone number and a display name Meta will accept. Start business verification early, because it is reviewed by a person — but it does not stop you setting everything else up. → Before You Connect WhatsApp: What Meta Requires

2. Connect WhatsApp. One guided flow: sign in to Meta from inside Scope Wiser and pick the portfolio and the number. Ten minutes once step 1 is done. → How to Connect WhatsApp to Scope Wiser: Complete Setup Guide

Already using that number in the WhatsApp Business app? You can keep the app and connect the same number here at the same time. Nothing has to be deleted.

Make it answer

3. Build one keyword reply. Not a clever bot — one word in, one message back. It proves the whole chain works, and everything after this is editing. → Build Your First Chatbot in 5 Minutes

4. Test it from a different phone. Message your business number from a phone that is not the one you connected; testing from the connected number does not work. If nothing comes back, → Why Your WhatsApp Bot Isn't Responding

Bring your team in

5. Open the Shared Inbox and answer one conversation yourself. This is where your staff will work. Learn how a conversation is assigned, and how a person takes over from the bot, before you invite anyone else. → Live Chat and the Shared Inbox: Complete Overview

Reach people

6. Get one message template approved. Outside a 24-hour window, WhatsApp only delivers approved templates. Submit one now so you are not waiting on Meta when you actually want to send. → Creating & Getting WhatsApp Templates Approved

7. Send one small broadcast. A handful of contacts, not your whole list. Then read the delivery numbers. → Running a WhatsApp Broadcast Campaign

That is the whole setup. Everything below is optional.

What to leave until later

All of these are useful. None of them belong in your first hour.

Feature

Come back when

AI agents

You know what customers actually ask

Follow-up sequences

You have a list worth nurturing

Catalogue and payments

You want to sell inside the chat

Webhook workflows

Another system needs to trigger a message

Facebook, Instagram, webchat

WhatsApp is running properly

Integrations — Sheets, CRM, Zapier

You need the data somewhere else

Two habits worth starting immediately

  • Label people as they arrive. A label costs nothing now and is the only thing that makes a targeted broadcast possible later. An account with no labels can only message everyone.

  • Test on a real phone every time. The builder's preview is not delivery. Most "the bot is broken" reports turn out to be a flow nobody ever sent to a handset.
